Chapter 6 and 11 responses

Chapter 6
I would personally want to teach in a classroom with less digital technologies. while reading chapter six a lot of technologies were brought up and i think that there all good ideas but i would pick and choose what technologies i would use in my classroom. some technologies i would use would be digital cameras, electronic whiteboards and scanners. the reasons i would use these but not the others is because these devices are technology and make learning and teaching easier but cant take the many focus away as easily as the other devices listed. The reason i wouldn't want to have laptops, smart phones, E-books, voice-actived, or other technologies in the classroom is because i feel they can distract the children more then if they don't have that kind of stuff to play with. All of the devices i listed to have in the classroom aren't meant to be for everyone to get one but for the whole class to share one. when there is only one its easier to make sure all the kids are doing what their suppose to and not playing games.

Chapter 11
A traditional audio technology is a cassette recorder and player. An emerging technology for audio is internet audio. Traditional visual technology is an overhead projector. An emerging technology would be broadcast video. A way to use all in the classroom would be if the teacher wants all the kids in their free time to listen to a book but wants the kids to have a choice on which one they want to read themselves the kids can use cassette players and if theres not enough for the whole class the other kids can use the internet audio and download the needed stories to listen to. in the classroom if the teacher wants to go over questions with the class as a whole and wants the students to come up to write out the answers they can use the overhead projector  and if the teacher wants the whole class to watch a video together in the middle of her teaching she can just pull up the broadcast video she downloaded to show the class.
